You might be wondering why Solvoz was developed? Solvoz was developed – by and for humanitarians – as a direct response to the dire need for a unified procurement system within our sector, capable of addressing the core challenges we face.
As every NGO uses different procurement applications, and there is widespread reliance on outdated practices, our sector’s ability to cultivate a more universal, digital procurement landscape has been somewhat limited.
Additionally, still to this day, commonly used approaches to humanitarian procurement encounter fundamental difficulties in meeting the three most significant procurement requirements of our sector: identifying and connecting with local suppliers, incorporating required solution specifications (e.g., technical, operational and contextual) and guaranteeing the use of accountable and transparent processes.
In facilitating access to trusted local suppliers, allowing for the sharing of valuable market information, and enabling more secure and responsible approaches to procurement, Solvoz represents a dedicated humanitarian e-procurement platform specifically designed to address some of these shortcomings.
Our approach actively encourages the localisation and greening of supply chains, the development of context-specific humanitarian responses and the minimisation of waste – both in valuable resources and time.
